Several years ago when I began walking my dog in the morning, I was initially captivated by the cracks in the sidewalk, peeling crosswalk paint and other infrastructure fails, all of which seemed to be individual art compositions. I began photographing these and eventually gravitated towards more patterns, textures, and blooms. I have posted these photographs to social media for years and received numerous comments, including that my morning observations had opened the eyes of others as to the beauty of the natural world or that I could make an art piece from a specific photo.
Simply being observant in the present moment is inspiration enough for me.
