The past couple of days I have been finishing up my donation to the annual SAQA Auction fundraiser which happens this fall. I am one of those deadline-challenged people so I design, finish, cross it off the to-do list and get in the mail long before it is due. The best part about this year’s piece titled Currents #24 is the background fabric was that same piece I was fighting with the past couple of months while working on Entanglement.
It was a piece of immense curved seams and piecing. In the end the piece measured large enough to make four 12 x 12 pieces. And when I look at Currents #21, #22, #23 and #24 I don’t see all the emotional anguish that went into creating the background fabric but rather four beautiful additions to the series.
Now I am onto creating a second piece in the stone path series so they can hang together. And then it is baby quilt season and after that time to get in gear to work on my piece for Earth Stories. After all…I do hate those deadlines!
