Writing The Tall Girl Series: A Body of Work* transformed my life.
I designed 23 quilts to illustrate my words; which then went out into the world through six exhibits.
The work informed and educated hundreds of people about the downsides of cosmetic surgery, our cultural obsession with appearances, and speaking one’s truth.
Viewers often thought about their own stories and how they could express them creatively. Many more than I can count contacted me to share the impact my work had on them, individually.
Telling my story not only healed me, but went on to heal others.
For me that has been the greatest gift, from this body of work.
Every one of us has a story, and many are not pretty. Art heals.
